In reply to DILYSI Dave:

I think that's the next logical step. I tried to do that with my RSX and it didn't work. I am a 15 year exp. TIG welder/fabricator and there just wasn't enough room to mess with stuff. If that's the case, the next step will be a foamectomy and then worst case I will get a new seat and lastly a new steering wheel.

The funny thing is the RSX was big compared to the IS, I miss it for it's room.

Can you even buy a good street seat anymore? Back in the day Recaro made some really nice seats for the street that fit big people, Any of the more recent offerings from Recaro have been too small for me.

I also don't want to spend 2K on a seat.

Any ideas? I want it to appear OEM or close, I'd also like to keep the seat heater(I'm in Canada), manual operation is OK.

Yep. 6'4", 245#. I race Spec Miata.

Interesting. I have ruled out SM because I think I am too big(as far as leg room). I am 6'5", 260#. I have had problems with my right leg and the dash/center console to steering wheel. I am guessing that stuff is removed in your car?

I had a Miata

6'4.5" 235lbs

Flattened the foam in the seat, removed the drivers side arm rest. 99 model.

For a helmet and cage I would have also bolted the seat to the floor
