Sure it was cool to go see the Ford GT, Shelby GT350R, Hellcats, etc but there was one car that eclipsed all others on the "Want One Meter."
Golf Sportwagen. TDI, wagon, nice inside, clever seat folding switches, and a FLIPPING 6 SPEED MANUAL. All the boxes have been checked and I want one.
I also learned that I do not fit in the back seat of a Fiat 500 and the Versa Note is cheap but more roomy inside than other small 5 door hatchbacks.
Oh, and yeah, the Ford GT is gorgeous.
Space is the one thing the versa got right. Make it blue and call it the tardis.
I suppose that is better than falling in love at the farm show.

it's really no different than when a farmer sees the all new lineup of John Deere combines for the first time...
That's way better than "Honey I can't sleep at night unless I have a GT350R."
Welcome to the fold ......
I am hoping to see this at the Chicago Auto Show next month.
I will settle for this instead.
I will even give in and settle even more for this.
But I believe the end result will be this.
And If this is coming I'm headed to Brentwood, TN to break some windows........
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
I once went to a farm show and came home wishing I had a few goats...
I hope my local auto show in March will have the Jeep Renegade. I'd be surprised if they had a Ford GT or GT350R but am willing to be surprised.

Is that Mr. Bean?
No, Mr. Bean drives a McLaren into things.

Hello Nissan - BMW comes out with this 1 series car and has a hit - in fact the prices are going up on used cars. See the RWD car sell? See a (small amount) of similarity?
That sentra nismo is slick, i hope they produce it and it lives up to it's looks.

I'm astounded. No VW dealer within 250 miles of me will stock (or even order) cars with manual transmissions.

Under the future cars on Nissan's website they have few more pictures AND they mention "Datsun" and admit they had a glorious past.
"Introducing the high-performance Sentra NISMO® Concept; the very latest in a long line of compact Nissan performance sedans like the Datsun 510 and the original Sentra SE-R."
I think we have a fighting chance..........

Or, more typical for this forum, you'll hope someone else will buy one and that for some reason they'll suffer 50% depreciation in the next two years.

I find it hard to believe that a dealer would pass up a sale and not order/trade a standard equipped car.
In reply to Keith Tanner:
Srsly . . . If it looked like that with 200-250hp, RWD, manual trans, ~2900lbs, ~$25k, I would plunk down cheese for it today. The Frisbee twins checks most of those boxes . . . I just don't care too much for how it looks.

It's pretty astonishing to me, as well. Today I had (the only) Subaru dealer in town tell me that if I wanted a stick shift Forester, it would require a 100%, non-refundable, CASH deposit, before they would get me one.

Just go to them and say "well that's too bad, because I would have financed it through you.."

Perhaps that would have been a better response than the one I gave him, which was, "Go pi$$ up a rope."

I fell in love at the auto show today as well.....I want to go back up and kidnap the chicks running the booth downstairs for one of the engineering schools showcasing their Formula/Baja SAE projects.
And Adrian was right, if you are on the fence about the GT from pictures, you need to see it in person. It will leave you stunned.
I wasn't pleased with the whole policy of "You must show a key & picture to gain access to the marque specific lounges.....for crying out loud, I own 2 bimmers again. LoL
Nissan will give you this.
Instead of this:
And it will have an anemic 1.6 and a CVT.

This dealer needs to get out of the Volkswagen business. Maybe start selling Lexus or something. VW is the German Mazda. If they lose the driving dynamics part of their brand identity, they go from being the German Mazda to being the unreliable Honda. Honda, of course, is the inoffensively quirky alternative Toyota.
