I've washed parts in the dishwasher, in the tub, etc etc...... currently storing spare MINI body parts on my dining room table..... yeah we don't let the landlord in.

my hope is that her suggestion that I restore a vintage exotic will result in a bigger garage, a welder and 220 in the workshop, or a bigger "funny money" budget....cuz cheap 60s 'rraris dont exactly grow on trees in southwest Ohio. The good news is that shes interested in exotics - i think my "constant barrage" strategy is beginning to weaken her defenses!

hmmm... Mine loves the one I got her.
Lord, all this talk of car parts on the dining room table, etc. My dining room table is teak, and I love it - if someone set a car part on it I would kill them. (And I got it for free! But it's a beautiful table.) I have a garage and it's there for a reason. Before I built my garage, the basement was for car parts. The dining room table is for dining. (And, apparently, for my wife's purse and crap when she gets home from work.)
I used to have crap everywhere in my house, but I hate it now. I love having a relatively uncluttered house. It's nice. Unfortunately I decided to wire up my home theater for real this weekend and spent the whole weekend cutting holes and routing wires. Got the wiring done but there's still stuff all over the house. Hopefully I'll finish it tonight! We have a small house, so right now there's a stereo rack in the living room, projection screen blocking the couch, etc. Thankfully I've moved beyond my "six months to do a minor project" stage in life.
