Hell, make a car that makes me want to go to the dealer. I don't think I've ever been to a Chrysler or Dodge dealer in my life.

But without a top people can see you in it.

I haven't bought a Jeep since they discontinued the inline 6cyl.

Because he was busy signing autographs for a mob of kids. Good reason! Also, the "Super Sub-Lime" Challenger he drove that year (I think he called it Samantha, we all called it Kermit) had a hula girl on the dashboard. He's one of us.

That can be good. I still credit Ford's attitude today to Bob Lutz' presence there in the 1980s. It still amazes me that so few of our kind are actually in the industry in the US (at any decision-making level, anyway..).

Who doesn't want to be Apple? Customers not only want the company's products, but they want them at MSRP! Apple knows better than any company how to market to the 18-25 crowd, which loathes being "marketed to." I can't think of a company more polar opposite to Apple than Chrysler; it is a grand aspiration they have but they should focus on baby steps, not winning the lottery.

+100.

I know Ralph pretty well, and since you all know where I work, it's not because of work. He's been a member of AROC on and off for a while- had a super hot GTV "racer" that he brought out to our track events.

And a nice hot Grand Caravan that embarassed a lot of other Italian hardware. It would make the Mini-me guys blush.

But his Viper driving is something to behold.

The guy can flat out drive.

And he's super nice, too- I asked him to be a guest judge at our Convention a few years ago- no hesitation in saying yes. He and GM's Bob Boniface were there, and nobody thought anything of it, since they are both Alfisti.

Ralph will help keep them going.

(ps- he's a guy that GRM should ask to Judge the challenge cars.... seriously)

Too bad he has to answer to a board of directors. If only they would let a car guy run the car company instead of the bean counters. The last time I wanted to go into a Mopar dealer was to buy my '68 Roadrunner. It too had a cheesy interior, but it was cheap and I knew what I was buying it for.

My unasked for .02

When the Fiat 500 comes out, that's when I'll be interested in Chrysler, and not before.

Which global automotive company that sells in the masses isn't run by a board of directors???

We all are.
