I just saw a TR8 with a 4 sale sign........

And I accelerated my Mini Cooper S to get further away from it and decrease the likelihood that I would turn around and take a closer look.

Sometimes people who live in my town for 2 months out of the year keep sports cars in the garages or their $1,000,000 lake homes.

Then they die.

The grand kids of the former lake house owners, either wanting to rid themselves of Grandma and Grandpa's bourgeois summer lake home, or clear out the lake home and rent it for $3000 a week during the summer.

The first thing they do is clean out the garage. Usually they want to much for the stuff in it because they have the internet and are from Seattle, where I think people have gotten used to paying a lot for not much.

The other, more favorable scenario, is that Grandpa died. Grandma had the handyman push the car out into the driveway, and stuck the old lucky orange and black for sale sign that sold unwanted large items for the last 27 years without fail. Grandma will probably also call the local radio station first thing Monday morning during the "Second Cup" show, an local audio version of Craigslist for those who don't like the interwebs in their homes, or maybe just don't care about the interwebs because they are old, and live next to a nice lake.

Anyways, I'll have to go back. I don't want it to be another 1968 Alfa GTV / 1981 Alfa GTV6 package deal that I didn't jump right on last time. You don't even want to know what that lot went for. I have no love of the TR8, so I will just post it here.

So where was this TR8?

Head to Carver, Todd probably has one or more.

7 TR8s at the moment; 4 coupes and 3 convertibles. Passed on another rusty coupe a week ago or it would be 8 TR8s. Also have a couple of TR8 parts cars, but those don't count. Right?

I love it when i come on this forum and read about someone who picked up some particular car for one grand or four grand or whatever, and I check my local craigslist and they are all double that here. At least we don't get rust (mostly).

The V8 is very likely the most reliable part - because it's derived from a 1960s Buick/Oldsmobile all-aluminum V8 215 cu in

I have the same engine in my Range Rover which I can't seem to kill, despite my best efforts.
