When bending brake lines, make sure that your fittings are at the ends when you start... Gave myself a high-five over that one.

Now I don't feel so alone.
I am guilty of this same exact thing. Bad part about this is that it was for a friend's car. I got into a convo and just not watching what I was doing.

Maybe thats why I did it twice in a row once Had to drive to a second parts store to get more line.
Somehow, I just lucked into thinking about it the first time. Used painter's tape to hold the fittings near where they should be.
Now, the reason I needed to be bending new lines...
I did that too once. Now I tape them to the end of the line with some blue painters tape before I start to bend them. That assures the fitting is in the right place when I'm done.
^^Yeah me too^^ Especially the flaring and forgetting the fitting. I've even put the fitting on backwards once. Yeah, you only do that once.
BTDT as well. Worst one I have done in a while was when bending new fuel lines for the KA24/Dime swap: I bent the new fuel line exactly mirror image of the old one through just plain stupidity. That was a quiet ride to the parts store.
And place the shrink wrap on the wire before crimping.
I could cut my wire crimp purchases in half if I could ever master remembering this.

And mine was such a pretty flare too. Also have forgotten the shrink tubing before both soldering or crimping.
