Wow.
I just cross-posted this to the Classic Motorsports side. I don't usually do that, either. Nice find!
There is one that frequents the AROC autocrosses. When Tanner was about 2 he and Momma came to a race and he wanted to sit in it, the owner let him and we took photos. The owner asked me if I wanted to take it out, I said "not a chance, but i will sit in it to see if it fits" Let's just say it would need to be let out a little to get my big ass in it.
It will only cost more in the spring--or when people start to get their income tax returns back. AND, you could drive it at Lime Rock Vintage Festival, followed the next weekend by the festival at Watkins Glenn.
If you buy it, I got dibs on shotgun! Life's too short, it looks in good shape, of course get a PPS. One thing, though, I guess it's the reflection, but the hood looks a bit odd, like it's got a power bulge the original didn't have. Like I said, probably the reflection. In 8 days it could be sitting in your garage!!

do elan re-bodies exist for miatas? i soooo would. fm turbo 1.8 na "elan" mmmmmm
I bet this would be a better investment than my 401k has been for the last five years. I actually had a chance the last two years to convert ESOP to 401k. Then I could "borrow" against it abd snag this. I didn't because the stupid ESOP stock is down about 30%.
Where is Ms. Peel?
You are really going to regret letting this one get away if you don't bid. Not a project, nothing to refurbish, get in and drive. And it'll appreciate in value. You can afford it. BID.
I made that my screen saver last night. We have a guy that shows up at autocross with a blue/grey one. (NEOHIO Lakeland).
not sure I like it ALL red.
Aside from that.. it looks lovely.. and I didn't know the Elan came as a true coupe'
I'm not a huge fan of red cars to begin with and I agree that all red may not be the best choice, but that's an easy fix.
The earlier coupes are even better looking, as they don't have the vents behind the rear window (known as "Pre-Airflow").
The coupe and the roadster came from the same mold (literally), so it's and easy conversion from closed to open. I prefer closed and coupes are usually cheaper.
I fear that I may actually own one of these cars someday.
I think that the darker colored Elan needs to be tested for steroids. The one next to it's clearly pre-juicing!

I like it...I'd feel like Ferris Bueller driving that car.

Huh? I've been a Ft Wayne member for 10 years. I think I remember one time a few years ago a Modified class Elan came to one of our Regional events at Grissom. It wasn't FTD. Perhaps you're thinking of a different Region?
Beautiful car, though.
