Yep. At least she knows.
Picked it up for $250. Guy told me the 'water pump' broke, and he stopped driving it because the pulley on the water pump broke, so of course it stopped charging the battery as well with no belt. By 'water pump' he really meant power steering pump, which I discovered when I got there. I drove it onto the trailer.
Manual trans, turbo, 4 doors, sporty, economical, $250!, 3000ish lbs, clean title, etc. How could I say no?
Anyway, now the question is what to do with it - Fix and flip? Sporty DD? Challenge 2016? Build thread will happen regardless.
and bgkast, I know I paid 5 times as much as you did, but I got two keys and remotes, and one remote even works!

You shouldn't tell us what you paid for it and how easy it was to fix then leave it out there for one of us to buy!

I like that. I like that a lot. I vote Sporty DD re-done with the Challenge in mind. Although I'd probably look to doing a vinyl wrap done to make it red.

Fix and flip. Then escalate.
Nice! Put some Viggen parts on it.

Nice score! I wish I came across them.
Do you currently need a decently fun daily? If YES, fix and keep. If NO, fix and flip, and invest profits in toy car / $2016C.
In reply to Duke:
The 'decently fun daily' in the stable right now is the focus SVT. Once I get this Saab up and going I will really be able to tell which makes a better 'decently fun daily'.
Right now, it would seem that Saab wins on HP, Turbo, 4 door; SVT wins on weight, extra gear, sound system.

That and a title is worth an extra $200. What year is it?

1999 - So far from my quick googling I think that means it has t5 engine management and a t25 garret turbo.

Eh, he'll need to document it for the challenge anyhow...
What a steal! Fix it, turn up the boost, and drive to Gainesville next October.

Yep, same as mine. Keep your eyes peeled in the junkyard for a SE to nab the cross-flow intercooler/piping and TD04 turbo from. I also recommend Mike D when you want a bit more powah!

They make pretty great DD's. Tons of space when you fold the seats down and ridiculous fuel economy.
They aren't too bad as far as handling goes.
If you clean it up nice, you should be able to get $1500
What's with all the cheap as hell Saabs?
Nice. If my memory serves, these aren't corner carving heros but still do a pretty good job of just about everything. I saw one for 1K the other day, but now that seems like it was too much.
Finally started a build thread for those still interested. I will continue to keep that updated since it is in the build thread section.
