The Ford dealer across the street has a brand new Demon they found for a customer out of Vegas apparently. Automatic, gray with black hood. Had the interior bits in it.
First impression: All the tire all the time. Also I have been liking gray cars recently.
Second impression: I don't think you can have one with a clutch pedal, but still. Sad.
Overall impression: Not a fan. I hate the flares. I know for the limited numbers they are supposed to build probably make it quite expensive to stamp out molded fenders, but these bolt on plastic things look like bolt on plastic things. Thats just me though.
Is it just me or is a Ford dealer procuring a Dodge for a customer odd to anyone else?

Happens alot here, doesn't help that all of the big 3 dealerships are owned by people related too each other in some way. Was funny seeing a Shelby being parked next too a c7 inside a gm dealer.
Dealers do this kind of thing all the time. If the salesman is willing to do the footwork and the customer is willing to pay the premium then it is just any old car sale.
Very interesting!
Jay Leno and Dee Snyder had a Demon on the show. Dee’s car was pretty Nuts too.

This. As long as you're buying it from me, I don't care what you buy as long as you like it
A friend of ours has one on order, but last I heard it's not yet here.
I thought the Hellcat 'widebody' had the flares--not the Demon. The widebody has brakes, tires and a suspension that allow for respectable handling...but "only" 707hp. The Demon, with 840hp, pretty much just goes like Vin Diesel--10 seconds, or less, at a time.
The Demon has to be automatic---- it's equipped with a transmission brake, which I don't believe would be possible in a manual equipped car. For shift-it yourself fans, the Hellcat, and Hellcat wide body (with Demon flares) can be ordered with the Viper's 6spd manual. Of course, you'll have to settle with 707hp and a sub 11 second 1/4 mile, instead of a car able to dip into the 9s.
The Demon was not intended to run road courses, or autocross. It was designed to be the quickest production car ever made---- in a straight line---- which it does. Amazingly enough it's also docile enough to drive daily, just don't expect it to carve cones, or clip apexes. The Hellcat wide body actually does those things pretty well---- for it's size and ludicrous power.
I like the flares--- as it makes room for the massive rubber. I also find the Challenger to be slab-sided, and the flares help break that up.
FYI---- you can tell the difference between a Demon and Hellcat wide body by the design of their hood scoops.

Trans brake! I remember now. I knew there must be a reason.
I think the Challenger is gorgeous in standard trim. Maybe it was the color combined with the flares that threw me... But to my eyes they looked like an afterthought and for something that will be near enough $100k to get your hands on one I don't care for bolt on plastic bits.
I forgot about the wheels though. I really like the wheels.
