...and why you can use an RX8 subframe to bolt in a Renesis.

I went to the dealership and test drove a soft top version, and I have to say, I am severely temped!
I like the look of the RF better, but would end up going with the soft top in the end.

I approve of this train of thought, but you forgot the caboose; what are you going to sell to get Keith and Associates' suspension magic for it?
Keith, did you find the the RF had the same suspension lean that the regular did? Or was it more like the 124 in terms of handling flatter?
What do you have to have for the turbo smurf?
Disclosure: I'm not planning to own/drive it. I'm flipping it at the next Mecum auction. "And now we get to lot #15297 - a custom 1990 Turbo Miata that once belonged to Miata tuning legend Kyle Tanker (or something like that)!"
I can smell the money already.
EDIT: Although on second thought, "I bought Keith Tanner's Miata" might give me some instant cred in this thread: I'm so GRM that . . .

It feels flatter. It's mostly shock calibration and new rear bumpstops, but the steering has been improved around center and I think that is also contributing.

Ha! No. Kyle Tanker don't sell his DD for $2017
I have to sit down and figure some numbers.

Just remember, "the market" says aftermarket parts often detract value, so based on what I read, I'd be willing to take it off your hands for a mere $500. Any other tow company would charge double! What a deal!
:)
I have an auto ND rented for the wife and I for an upcoming trip, getting more excited reading this!
She doesn't drive stick yet so I went auto so she can enjoy the sports car experience. She's spent plenty of time sitting shotgun in my manual cars that she can't drive so this will be nice to switch it up.
Keith...you need to stop, now! I've been trying to look at older Miatas as a replacement, not a new one. You're not making this any easier. It looks even better lowered a bit.
Dang, if I had the cash, I could see doing that in a heartbeat.
Keith, what diameter are those wheels, can they be an inch wider (and maybe an inch smaller?), and does the fox suspension on that go about 1/2" to 3/4" lower?
Man that thing looks good...
They're a 17x8. We have 17x9 as well (see below). Personally, I'd run the 17x9 but we didn't have any of them mounted up for the pictures. Not a lot of options in 16" at the moment.
You could go lower with the Fox if you wanted. I don't know if it would improve the dynamics, but it would look different.
I'm a bit of a slave to fashion. If I ever get to the point when I'm actually competitive at autocross, I might tend towards function over form, but if it didn't make it an unruly monster, I'd go just a bit lower.
And the 9's look really good on that - though it looks like rub could be an issue if going any lower with it.
Let's see, we're planning on selling the house soon, and the wife would prefer I go with one car, so sell the Focus and the NB, keep some cash from the proceeds, hmmmm....
I probably ought not test drive an ND.
Rub has nothing to do with ride height The suspension will still travel through the same arc. Actually - it does matter if you're using short stroke adjustable body shocks, but not with proper full size ones like this. I know this setup will clear, it's a known entity.
We could go lower, but it would probably start having an effect on the ride quality.
