Agree on cam timing mattering a Lot. When my Midlana car was dyno'd the first time, power was around 420 hp at 18 psi. While being fairly happy with that, it bugged me that I kept reading of cars with very similar engine/turbo combinations making much more than that on less boost. Some time later the engine was dyno'd again, and the tuner asked me why cam timing had been locked - I had no idea that it had been. He unlocked it and did his tuning, allowing the engine to make around 520 hp on ethanol - and 15 lbs boost. So, yeah, done right, there's a lot of potential there.

Not just for power, you can use it to shape the boost and torque curve.

So yesterday, I was at the Corvette Museum, (very cool by the way), and a lot of buzz about the 1000 hp car. Then I wake up today and a friend sends me a text that the Zora in 2026 will have over 1200hp! As cool as all these horsepower numbers are, let's face it, can you reasonably drive a car that powerful on the street? Isn't more likely they will find their way into rich collector's garage for investments and rarely driven? Also, how much do you think consumables will be? And how much will an oil change be? Remember when the C7 had 755 hp? How bout when the Hellcat came out and we all went WOW....crazy times

I expect the Zora will be the ZR1 + E-Ray front end.

Able to drive it fast on the street? That's not been the point for years. Just about any modern production car is too fast to be used to its maximum performance on the street. But would you rather it didn't exist?

You don't have to mash the gas all the time. Same as a sport bike.

I've always said that if I owned a Ferrari, I'd autocross a Ferrari.

I would treat this thing the same way. =D

I'm not sure I trust the company that can't make a V8 that doesn't disassemble itself before it's first oil change at the sub-400hp level to make a V8 that holds up at the 1000+hp mark.

And I work for that company.
