(You know, once we're done with all this minivan nonsense...)
The Donut Class.
Modify the car any way that you want, but it must roll on four temporary spares tires in the size originally spec'd for the car. It would be more about traction and tread management than sheer power. It would also be fun to watch.
We could also have a Double Donut Class for retired cop cars rollin' donuts.
Serious question, are there any safety concerns trying something like autocross on doughnuts inflated properly? I've always wanted to do doughnut day at a local event but everyone keeps telling me it would be dangerous.
In reply to Woody:
3rd generation f-body with the factory aluminum space savers on it would win the day....mostly due to the fact they pack 2x the contact patch of most donuts

Are there any safety concerns whacking half the body off a car and adding nitrous?

Fair enough. Is this really a 'whatever is stock?' because things like S10's came with a fifth tire that's pretty much the same as the other four. You KNOW we'd exploit the rules and ruin things if given the chance.
I suggest we use the Khumo T121 in a 125 width. This lets people run a 15 or 16 inch wheel. If you can't fit a 15 or 16 too damn bad. Oh, and full interiors.
Oh boy, I feel some blame coming my way before this thread ends.
They already decided next year was power wheelchairs.

I think the main danger with space savers is to the pavement because once you pop or debead the tire your wheel is going to gouge into the pavement of whoever owns the venue. So probably not that dangerous to the car, but i doubt many people with actual good quality surfaces would want to bother with this idea.
AMC factory space saver spare:
In reply to Dietcoke:
Well I'm your hotshoe for that class.
Don't factory donuts get kind of explodie under normal conditions?

This made me laugh. You're all right Cap.
I like this idea. Just gonna leave this here...
C63 AMG on spacesavers
One of the car magazines did a test on four space savers several years ago including some track time; I think their conclusion was that it basically drove like normal, just much lower limits.
How about you only get two donuts? That should make things interesting in the autox.

2 full diameter donuts, one on the left front, one on the right rear. That should make for some interesting handling characteristics...
