I happened across this long list of Kit Car manufacturers and distributors. There's some crap, some mofugly, some funny, and if you look long enough, some good stuff. Just thought it might interest some here, so here's the link:

Yes, some pretty neat stuff there! A fake Lambo will always be a fake lambo, but some of that stuff is cool.
Everytime I stop and say... yeah! They are based in merry old england. Is the UK the mecca for kit cars or something? Why is that?
And seriously... are there enough 427 Cobra replica makers out there? There were only somewhere near 10 originals... there are triple that number of whole companies making these E36 M3ty cars.
DO WANT The Lancia Stratos kit.
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
Fiberglass doesn't rust. Plus have you seen some of the cars the UK have to drive???? I'd put a different body on them in a heartbeat. They make some of the appliances here look "nice".

In reply to Tom Heath:
i like the fact that they designed is as a nice handling driver first than a looks first machine.
but i'd be hard pressed to pick anything they make over their Daytona Coupe

Makes it look about 25 years younger, nice work.
Oh, I found an original brochure for this in between my dad's playboys when I was growing up. Ohhh baby!!!

Another neat website....

I would really like to find an unfinished 356 Speedster kit. I have tons of air cooled VW stuff, and it would be very cool to build a 356 Speedster, but, I won't pay $10K for just the body or $20K for the kit.
Too bad many of the companies on this list are fly-by-night. I was in Mount Dora yesterday, so I thought I'd try to find the guys from http://www.gullwingfactory.com/
They - like so many - appear to be out of business.

Using a factory AWD drivetrain would make that even meaner. I don't think you'd be limited to the typhoon/syclone either.

At first I thought it was kind of repulsive, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.
It's not nearly as hideous as some of the stuff on there.

Id hate to use up a good typhoon or syclone for a kit car. a wrecked one yes indeed.
That just means your name is not Glickenhaus...remember, he once had an enzo cut up to use as a donor. Of course, what he was having coachbuilt was a far cry from a kit car

The QuadraDeuce is AWD.
The Bravada could be a good donor.

millions of S series Chevy and GMC trucks and Astro/Safari vans were built with most of the same awd parts as the Syclone/Typhoon, so there really is no need to chop one up.
I have to admit to being intrigued by the Pisa Jalapeno.
