I know I just picked up the answer, but there's something cool about these.

To me, this is cool...

As a happily divorced man I say go for it realizing that this isn't what put you over, it was over a long time ago.

As a logical 50% single dad who loves every minute with his son I say if you have kids and feel like I do then don't berkeley up your possible time with them in the future.

No cool car is worth a divorce. If you feel that you are on the verge, a car purchase should be the last thing on your mind.

If it was a late 70s \ early 89s Malibu id say yea. But pass on the impala, save yer marriage

IRT Boosted/Coldsnap, see Stampi's note above. Pretty much a sarcastic title, if true none the less.

At $1800, it's really cheap. And if they take less... so much the better. Chevy, so parts are cheap. The bigger problem would be finding a place for it - we're a bit space limited now.

My oldest sister had one of those when I was growing up. I was sad when she sold it. Those rear windows are very pricey if you have to replace them. I want one in the worst way.

I am operating under the impression that you are mostly joking about the big D, if you are not mostly joking about it then I say save your money, you're going to need it.

I figured it was sarcasm. It's just that my wife and I are in bad shape and I find little humor in anything at the moment.

We're in bad shape too (i.e. not mostly joking), but $1800 isn't going to make a dent if it comes down to it.

I'm going to look at it tomorrow, we'll see what it looks like. Straight no rust body would make it really, really tempting.

I'm already plotting about where I can temp store in order to thin out the focus, and probably the 320i (my son will take it, but he's about to head in to the airforce, so that'll become a challenge...).

Divorce? For that? Might as well cheat on your wife with a three.

i've had 3 of them... great cars... the last one would have been better if i had gotten around to swapping the steering, suspension, and rearend out of that 87 Cop car i parted out into it.. i did swap the later dash into it, and the 120mph speedo was a definite improvement over the stock 85mph piece..

Wait until after the divorce to get it. Otherwise she'll get it, sell it on Craigslist for $400 out of spite and blow the buyer.

Ugh, divorce. It brings out the ugly side of everyone involved. You say your son is heading into the service though, that's the redeemer then. If the kids are adults it's just a parting of the ways and an opportunity to lose 75% of your E36 M3 and have the courts tell you it's a fair split.

I personally would like to see divorces be legally settled with a duel. Closure that way!

wouldn't that depend on whether or not the marriage was worth saving ? if divorce is already under strong consideration, then I'd guess, probably not

You might as well be honest and let her see that you are who you are, not a drug user, not a cheater, not a gambler but a car guy, get over it.

Just my take, if you back down now, you have set the precedent.

Don't be rude or obnoxious just be you.

If married to the wrong person, divorce is ALWAYS worth it.
