About 2 1/2 years ago I had Tokico struts and Racing Beat springs installed on my Protege. I didn't know enough about working on suspensions at the time, and I didn't have the necessary space or tools, so I had a local shop do it. In going through the suspension now I've discovered that they installed the upper spring perches and strut mounts 180 degrees off on both sides of the car. No wonder I've had a clunking noise at full lock for over a year.

Looking forward to taking my car to the alignment shop Tuesday and wringing it out on the way home. Mmm, new Eibachs.

suspension work is not hard.. the worst part is making sure everything is torqued up right.

Glad you discovered that shop's mistake.. see, even the pros get it wrong

yea the previous owner of my e36 had the front struts on the wrong side, which mechanically isnt a problem but the brackets for brake hoses and speed sensor wires were all just zip tied since nothing fit.

the really nice shift kit was put in backwards too actually, with the lever bending forward into the dash rather than back towards the driver. makes me wonder what else is backwards.
