Finally found my new DD, a 07 Honda Fit Sport, manual, one owner 134k miles. This thing is like a go cart , no power but sticks to the road like it's on rails. May update the struts / shocks but don't know if I want to lower it. What says the hive ?

My 09 Fit scrapes in lots of places at stock height. I'd say no. If you want to, don't do much drop, maybe adjustable coil overs so you can return to or near stock.

The above is an opinion.

You'll want Swift springs. They don't drop the car much but are stiff enough to improve the handling. Search for part number 4h912. It's for all 07 to 08 GD3 Fits.

I'd say, it depends. My 11 Fit has more than enough clearance for anything I do, including some pretty aggressive speed bumps on a daily basis. The only place I've had any type of clearance problems was just the chin scraper on parking curbs, or the rolled curb on the end of my driveway if I come in at too steep of an angle. If I didn't have to deal with the speed bumps, I'd be more than content to lower it a bit. But as it stands, I like being able to utilize the extra clearance. Come to think of it though, for half the time I've had it now, it's been on slightly larger diameter tires which add just a little additional clearance as well.

In reply to Driven5:

Ah, this must be why you took offense earlier.... didn't realize we were both fit owners. I agree with driven5, but I'd also say it depends on the roadways of your locale. We didn't lower our second Fit after moving to central Oregon. The roads here are pretty bad, and in the snow is ridiculous.

I have a 2nd gen so my options are a little different, but Koni Orange (STR.T) struts/shocks are on my list to firm up the handling. Apparently they are just Koni Yellows without the adjustability, permanently set on the soft side (still stiffer than OEM). Also considering Swift springs at the same time. Gotta say, some 7" wide wheels with 205-width rubber made a HUGE difference though.

All I'm finding for shocks/struts is KYB.. I'm reading power upgrades are useless ?

Yeah.. Power upgrades are useless. The ECU adjusts itself and defeats whatever you throw at it returning itself to its happy stock tune. Hondata can fix this. Not worth it to me, but maybe worthwhile to you.

So called "power upgrades" are worthless on most cars.

If I went by claims, I gained over 40 hp. on my ZX2SR. I reality it might have been 5.

I think the under drive pulley was responsible for that.

I was given some used lowering springs from a GRM'er when we got our '08 Fit Sport. The car had a nice ride height in back but it was too low in the front. With more standard offset wheels and tires the car would scrape the sidewalls on the rear fender lip when loaded or encountering bumpy roads. We liked the look (pic below) but the scrapes and stuff got old so I went back to stock springs a couple months ago.

Hondata is like $695..ouch ! I'm hoping new struts and shocks will make for a better ride, will the swift springs kill the ride ? I do plan on doing some autox with this car. I'm not into the rice crowd but where do most of you go for that type of stuff ? upgrade wish list: shocks/struts, rsb, ARM REST , stereo with blue tooth, fart can cause rice, headlight upgrade(I do a lot of traveling at predawn/ night.)

This should help you making a decision on springs. I've had this file for a while and it's what made me decide to buy Swift Springs for my 2007 Fit.
