Correcting my prior post . . .

I will agree that the ominous stench of political corruption is in the air.

Narigi does have what could be considered a conflict of interest and/or an ax to grind (kids death / lawsuit). SCRAMP, a not-for-profit 501(c) corp, has been doing the job for decades and has an experienced crew. Narigi has neither.

Then, why is the county apparently cutting SCRAMP out? ANSWER: money

Bribes, kickbacks - the usual political garbage. It's sad really.

Dave_M I'm pretty cynical but the linked article fails to mention that the guy who brought the complaint is a known campaign pitbull who calls up reporters and screams at them in f-bomb laced tirades. He himself has been under investigation for his antics so there may well be some validity to the investigation being politically motivated.

On reporters; the Monterrey County Weekly is either being extremely disingenuous or they are just plain lazy. Yes locals donate large amounts to PACs who then donate to candidates, this is how PACs which why the whole Citizens United case came about. I find it difficult to believe even the most wet behind the ears reporter doesn't  know this.

As mistrustful as I am of politicians, I am equally mistrustful of journalists as so many of them are equally as full of crap.

Whole thing is pretty strange. It's like, there's this odor and it's coming from somewhere, but we just don't know exactly what it is yet.

The A&D guy taking over and running the track into the ground out of vengeance is almost too simple and obvious. It's more Lifetime Movie Network than it is real life- maybe.

If only racing cars really were as simple as just locking Leo Beebe in an office and glaring at people while shifting...

Well for both of our sakes I hope you're right, because it would be a shame to see such an iconic track go away.
