also if you swap to the 28 spline you can swap in the later mazdaspeed protege limited slip that it still available through mazda motorsport program fairly cheap (comparable pricewise to the Mfactory). MFactory will do a custom ring and pinion as well, but only if 12 units are pre-sold.

It's not the first time he's done it. First one he never finished, got it to a roller using RX7 parts, then sold it.
As for the "why?" Not sure. He's done some weird/crazy stuff to FWD Mazdas.

Is that still in progress or is it done? This actually makes more sense than the Probe, being far lighter. With all that big square tubing, though, I assume its going to gain some weight. Greg, you're going to have to do a build thread on that.
