Sounds Subie biased and the explanation of why the vehicles perform the way they do is painful, but interesting anyway.

The test is pretty decent, but blaming engine placement for results in one test and claiming the rear wheels would have a harder time than the front pulling the car up the hill because they have more weight on them in another was pretty amateurish. The test was all about who had the best traction control programming and limited slip center differentials. Wonder what my Disco would do without locking the center diff? Fun to watch the systems in action.
Pretty sure it has a lot more to do with lsd's front rear and center than with the symmetry of the drive train.

I did like the little hop to the side when the slack tightened during a turn.
he didn't have the video going when he decided to stomp on the brakes..just to see what would happen..talk about a little side hop...it was like a fish on a line fighting to get away.
another subaru sales vid that uses a Hill instead of some rollers to demonstrate stuff.

does the forester have LSDs in the front or rear? My wrx sure doesn't....
Lame that they stopped putting rear LSD's in the WRX in 2008. I love mine in the Legacy GT, makes a world of difference.
Only the STI comes with a front LSD from the factory.
In reply to DaveEstey:
yeah, I agree. That said, the TCS/VDC is pretty effective at compensating for its absence. It's a tradeoff for the extra performance the wrx got in other categories I guess.....
Wait, the new "better in every way" WRX doesn't have rear LSDs? Ha!
Goes out to garage to hug bugeye

probably smart move by Subaru. The 09+ wrx is already pretty damn close to the STi in terms of performance. Probably made the change to give the STi more stuff that the WRX doesn't have. Supposedly the 11 wrx power was tuned down a bit for the same reason.... IDK, I'd love to have a rear LSD, but honestly I haven't missed it much. The extra 60 horses and multi-link rear suspension more than make up for it at the track anyhow...
