We had a thread here a while back about this. Cant find it. Even had results on an 80s Porsche posted as feedback.
I just pulled a 65 mustang field car into the shop. Its bad mopd wise, but had a new interior before being parked.
I already have bad lungs. It set off an attack just rolling down tne windows.
So i have to do something.
Anyone have a link to the thread or the Porsche result?

Mold/mildew thread
Spray 9. Ozone generator.
Ozone can destroy plastic and rubber. It is also hazardous to you lungs. I'd strong advise against using it in this application. I'd wipe it down in mild bleach water or diluted peroxide. If exposure is a problem for you, take it to an auto detailer.
Thanks all.
I AM the shop it was taken to. Owner was supposed to clean/have cleaned before delivery.
It wasn't.
Since ghe lung tumor ive been awfully sensitive to stuff. Respirator and spray nine/bleach water and add the labor to his bill.
Since this thread is useless without pictures....
Send it back as is. berkeley you, customer, the agreement was you bring me a car with a clean mold-free interior
In reply to AngryCorvair :
Nah. Ill just take an extra $150 in labor. Added to the 2k estimate already agreed to.

Dude, what us this about a lung tumor? I must have been asleep.
Definitely get a legitimate respirator. I have always been partial to North 1/2 Face with HEPA filters. Add dual function filters as needed (VOCs, acids, etc). Be aware a respirator puts a strain on your heart and lungs. We had to have annual respiratory physicals when I had to wear a respirator at work.

I would have payed $150 to have my E30 de-molded so fast it would make your head spin. It'd have been a bargain at $500. Don't undercharge for work you didn't want in the first place... (EDIT: it should go without saying that I don't know what you should charge, nor is it my intent to tell you what to do; just figuring that it's unpleasant work, relating what it would have been worth to me, and intending to encourage you to get compensated appropriately. Didn't mean to tell you how to live! )
The E30 involved pulling the carpet and blasting them out with a heated pressure wash, going over the seats with grapefruit seed extract... Mayhem. And I'm still kinda amazed that it actually seemed okay after that. I don't know how far you have to dig into the Mustang to get it where it needs to be.

I've never had to deal with mold but my first thought is to get the interior really hot. In Texas this is automatic for anything that sits in the sun. The part about removing the physical remains is probably the hard part. I would guess just having a good enough filter over your face turns it into just a bunch of regular detailing work (which is tedious and annoying to the majority of people who already aren't wearing masks).
I just did my 951 and if I was billing for it I would have charged between $500 or more.
I think you are thinking of my thread by the way.

Exactly that thread!
And my labor rate is $50 an hour wether its detailing, wiring, or rebuilding a carb.
Guess is about 3 hours or so to get it cleaned up. Nowhere NEAR as bad as deans 951. I wouldn't even consider it on that car due to my lungs.
You are underpaying your self!!!
