Thanks to 8 days straight of snow, we got to rallycross in 6-12" of snow this past weekend. It made for quite the interesting event as the racing surface drastically changed every run. It was also quite photogenic! Here's a few photos that have shown up so far. I've linked these from Facebook, so hopefully they're visible for everyone.
And here's why you shouldn't be rallycrossing on completely blown struts. There was a double set of bumps spaced appropriately to launch the front end with no damping.
A bit of humor; the Subaru was stuck thanks to being on nearly bald all seasons.
And the aftermath...
I can see all the fun pics.
Only thing better is when it snows the night before an Autocross
i hate you guys. For the third time in three years, this weekend we will be running a winter rally where there is almost no freaking snow......in upstate Pennsylvania!
One of my favorite winter rallycrosses was up at Crystal Motor Speedway (or whatever it's called). there was maybe 8-10 inches of snow... on the dirt oval.
Pitching it sideways at WOT on banked snow is an absolute gigglefest. It's a shame I didn't have a GoPro back then.
Irish, so you are going to be at the WM rally?

That is pretty funny! To be honest, we were due as this is the third year that we've hosted January and February events and this is the first one that we've had any snow. The last February event we actually had highs in the 70's when the average high is only 34.
