I purchased the 2006 limited edition Mazda MX-5 Miata that was a part of spin_out’s estate. My research prior to the purchase led me to believe that it is a Grand Touring model with a special paint color making it a Limited. I thought that the Limited was not supposed to have an LSD but during tire rotation last night I gave the wheels a spin and it seems to have one which aligns to what I thought I was feeling on the road.

Did the Grand Touring have an LSD or was this likely upgraded after it left the factory? It really doesn’t matter as I am thrilled that I am avoiding that future expense but I am curious.

Depends on what kind of party you're going to!

Only way to know for sure is to call Mazda with the VIN to see if it was equipped.  I believe the Grand Touring DID have LSD from the factory.

Having known Mark, I don't think he would have bought a Miata without LSD.

All grand touring manuals had lsd. There is a sales brochure on Miata.nut.

I believe the LSD was part of the suspension package for 06. It was only available on the manual trans but I think it was an option on any trim level above the lowest one. It should have also come with Bilstiens but those might be gone by now.
