The phone number is IN the ad and they're in the same place as you, why not call it and plan a time to meet them? Isn't that the whole point of craigslist...so you can call local people and make local deals?
If that were anywhere near me, I'd be all over it. I've got an 85 kW motor looking for a home...

How hard can it be to swap a motor in a smart? By the sellers math it is a $7500 job. Wait may be the seller is thinking of putting an LSX in it or somthing.
Easy swap, whole drivetrain drops out on a subframe. That's a steal if you can find a motor or want to do the 'busa swap.

I have heard it is stupid money to get a new motor. Then you are still working on a Smart car that is getting a new motor because the owner was a dumbass.
Used anywhere in the country is 1800-2500 for an engine assembly. Yeah, I looked! Damn. But I think a VW 1.8t would fit.
