I'm afraid that's all folks. BAck in the UK there are more from these events, plus LeMAns in 1994, many BTCC races from the 80's as well as pics of young drivers like the late Paul Warwick, Paul Stewart, Johnny Herbert, McCarthy and one I always liked and followed the late Roland_Ratzenberger in FF2000, F3, F3000 etc.

One day!

Hesketh, I wish!! I'm not that old. I was born in 69 so I was a bit young to be snapping the gang.

Sorry, I'm that old and you may have Alain Prost, but I'll take 'Hunt the Shunt' any day. Thank you again , love the times when $$$$ didn't dictate who could come and play....pre the demented dwarf (b ekelstone).

Awesome shots and history lessons! I hope to get to an F1 race some time to just see it all. Do you ever frequent the autosport nostalgia forum section? I'm sure the folks there would love your shots. There are some folks there who may have even worked on those cars.

Thanks for sharing the pics. One thing I noticed in your Spa pics was the pit crew wearing shorts! Wonderful times back then.

Hunt may be the best fun driver of the err'modern era', but he was never the best driver. He could be blindingly fast on his day, but his days weren't as frequent as Prost's. I have no doubt that if Lauda had won the WDC in 76 Hunt would have been stronger in 77 and taken it too him more then, but once he got his championship I think he lost some of his hunger.

I know I watched races through the 70's but i don't have concrete memories of them. The first race I remember any specific details of having watched was the 1980 British Grand Prix and being so so excited that a British car at the British race with an English speaking Commonwealth driver got to the front and won.

Trivia fact about those Williams. Because they were sponsored by British Leyland, Cosworth made up special Valve covers for the DFV's that had no markings rather than saying 'Ford' on them. Their other main sponsor was Saudi Air with smaller sponsorship from a certain Saudi owned family company...Binladin group!! Yes, that Binladin family, although it was a long time before a certain son of Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden went bat E36 M3 crazy and turned out to be global enemy #1.

I had my program in one hand and a pen in the other handing it too him for an autograph. As he was reaching for the pen and program a hand grabbed my shoulder and literally pulled me back and threw me on the ground as half a dozen professional reports and camera men surrounded him. I then dusted myself off and took a couple of snaps. At the time I was mad and disappointed, but with reflection I really like this pic. It's not a classically composed pic, but a true snap shot of the moment.

Fantastic! Thank you Adrian.

Fantastic shots! Thanks for posting. Maybe for better viewing, make an album on Flickr or Imgr.
