Eh, it's quite possible that my Ma just passed along whatever the sales guy said to her. Ever wonder who bought those 4-cyl 3rd gen GM F-Bodies back in the '80? My mom did. Sales guy told her it was a V6.

I tried to get her to take it back after I saw the ol' Iron Duke under the hood, but she didn't want to make a fuss (Old School Southern woman..). We eventually started calling it the "CAFE Racer".

The CRX replaced the Camaro, she had an Olds Alero after that, and now she's in an '08 or so Mitsu Galant.

EDIT: Normally I'd apologize for the thread tangent, but I'm just so jealous you found that car.

My brother in law (Chevy guy) bought a used dump truck from a guy he worked with so he could start a landscaping business. He was really proud about the Big Block 454.

As soon as he popped the hood and I spotted the four bolts holding the little valve covers on, I had to break the news to him. "Uh, Don, that's a 350".

"Nope, 454."

"Says right up here on the emission sticker, '5.7'. Do the math."

"Doh!"
