Last time I posted about my work van, the poor beast had ejected a spark plug. Well, a quick trip to the local shop took care of the plug. While they had it, I had the front end rebuilt. New ball joints and radius arm bushings. It drives like almost new now.
And as usual, I missed it.
That is all.
Congrats. These things fascinate me.
Congrats! Here's to another 300k miles.
I always seem to miss out on these milestone moments too, like that special time in my Mazdaspeed3's life where the odometer read, "80085"
Okay now you have to do what I did.
Feb 19:
Okay, so at 313,894 miles, I need to reset the trip odometer and NOT TOUCH IT.
I am going to take the Geekiest Photo Evar.
March 04:
I hinted that I was going to do this... and I done done it:
dang...I was sure it'd be a Jeep XJ
In reply to Knurled:
That is over the top. Even if I tried I'd miss the 313894.
I was hoping the clock would continue it, to be honest. Can you make that happen?

Oh, dang! You beat me to it. I was sure I was gonna be the first.
The pic would have been really special if you had taken it at 5:89 in the morning.
Funny, that's what everyone on Motorgeek said :)
Well, it's a VW, the clock might start reading hundred-minutes someday...
Way back when I was a quick lube tech, we had a regular customer who was in for an oil change every 2 weeks. He was in sales, and saw an unimaginable amount of highway miles, but was back home every weekend. His employer paid for him to get an oil change every month, and he decided to supplement that with a change out of pocket every month as well. It must have been worth it. In late 2001, when I quit working there, I can clearly remember his 91 Roadmaster having 500,000+ miles on it. We did the math. He did nearly a thousand miles a week in that thing...unreal. It was still in GREAT shape...minimal rust underneath, body was straight and clean, and it started on the first try every time. It was a tank. GM hate all you want people, Kias dont last that long...
Toyman, I hope you get another 300k!
Is that a toothpick on the Pi odo?

1000mi/week isn't all that much. I drive that much between two cars.
I had a customer with a one year old Windstar with 128k on it.
Anoither regular customer had a Savanna van with over 600k on it, unopened engine. He was a driver for Landstar. He sold it to his sister when it was five years old and bought a box van that we kitted out with extra batteries, power inverters, and such, so he could stick a bed in it and use it as a rolling apartment. There was a heat wave a couple years ago, and he was in Texas roaming around. He said there was a period of two weeks where he never shut the engine off because he wanted the A/C He also said the coolant temp pegged the gauge a couple times. We installed an aux radiator fan after that...

wow, yep, that is even over the toppier than my guy
You could have driven around the world 14 times, try to squeeze in at least one circumnavigation before you trade it in!

Congrats! I should hit 300K with my TDi sometime in the fall (just pased 275). I'm shooting for at least 500K.
I just passed 350k miles in my 86 Nissan hardbody. I missed it when it turned.
God I love you all for the geeks you are. Whenever I come on here I know that even though I am dumber than crushed rock, you all will do something like this that will make me feel at home.

4.2 V6.
Jeez, and I thought my car had a lot of miles at 170K...
The toothpick takes the Pi photo to 11.
Here's the rest of the fleet for you.
1999 E250 4.2 V6. This one did get an engine at 298000.
1997 E150 4.2 V6
1995 E150 5.0 V8
If you need a van, buy a Ford.
