NASCAR drivers are just like us regular people!

So, along those lines, years ago I was looking for my car while at Daytona Speedway. I think this was the pre-season test that is now known as the Roar. Back then, you just came and parked in the infield.

But where did I park my car?

Also looking for his car with that same “Where did I park my car?” face?

I remember it was sometime in the mid-aughts. I was at a semi-pro boxing event supporting one of the guys I trained with for his fight. The event was in Tampa/Sarasota and I met this dude named "Guy Fieri" who was photographing the whole event from ringside and said he was "a chef on the side" and trying to cut his teeth in the journalism world. It wasn't until a few years later I realized who I had met that day. He did not have the frosted tips yet but I remember him being super into cars from our conversations throghout the night.

Back 20 years or so, Woody Harris, who was the hot shoe with team Birkinsport in NASAs Super Unlimited endurance class at the time, sent me a big framed picture of me and my car at Sears Point. I barely knew the guy and asked why the generosity? His answer was that it was a great shot and he thought that I'd appreciate it. And how! What's extra cool is that the only thing of mine that my son still keeps close at hand is that picture, which hangs over his desk.
