...where cowbell is mods
Mrs. gumby has decided it is time to retire her silver 2014 FoST. Her qualifications for the replacement:
- Sporty
- Manual trans
- Coupe preferred, Sedan entertained, but not another hatchback(probably)
- Not a boring color
- Target under $35K
She drove a Kia Forte GT, and was left wanting more power. Sat in a Civic Sport to get a feel for ergonomics, but they sold the Si before she got there. Based on the Forte she would not want the Si anyway, but maybe a TypeR. She drove a BRZ, which was difficult to find, and liked it quite a bit. Power was adequate, however learning to leverage gearing would be a thing. N/A 2.4L drives very differently than her 2.0 Ecoboost.
She didn't pick any of those. So what did she choose?
Delivery is supposed to be Thursday, so I will accept guesses until it is here to reveal. There may be some clues in this stack of parts I am collecting for it
Hmm, what car has the option to purchase without wheels?
Lol knew you couldn't wait for wheels.

WRX or STI
STi was part of the opening salvo. Poor MPG ratings dissuaded her.

Elantra N?
Weird styling. "The front looks like it has mandibles."
GTI? The manual transmission threw a wrench in my guessing. But wait, that's a hatch.
Integra. That's my final answer.
That bolt pattern is kinda small for 5 lug. My bet is Subaru.
5x114.3 on the box plus catch can = Mustang. EcoBoost?

Good guess. I'll agree.
And she's staying in the Ford family....
This year there is a purple that might be interesting with bronze.

That's the one.
And John got the color too. Nicely done!
Wow. That's gonna be cool. Did you go heavy on options or stay simple?
I looked at the build site to see if they still offered Crimson Red. I think it looks great with bronze.
Maybe above is too gold. Another sample:
In reply to John Welsh :
We built one up on Ford's site because manual Ecoboost cars are a bit thin on the ground when you lock into post-facelift(2018) and under ~30K miles. Plus that purple.... It would have been a base car plus the 101A package to get Sync3.
But then, I found a 2022 Ecoboost Premium in Knoxville with only 2,200mi on it for less than MSRP of the new one we spec'd out. That is the one which is on the way.

Congratulations!
I had some time during WK2 soccer practice yesterday so I stopped at a Ford dealership. They had a new Mischievous Purple Mustang GT that was kinda cool. It flopped color from purple to dark blue to black like a mature version of the Mystic Cobra Mustangs of two decades back.

Very much agree, and all colors which look great with bronze wheels!
I'm confident the color was her deciding factor over the BRZ. Also, not having a 6-8mo wait for something to get built.

E30tune coming? It was such a nice mod on the FOST.
That is a great color! I think those wheels will be great on there. Like I need to paint the Samurai wheels that color.
Nothing is sacred around here.
These pics came today from my detailer
Picked it up from there tonight and dropped it at the tint shop.
