I don't think him moving into a higher role at Hendrick is likely to be a surprise to anyone. He's always had an eye on the money end of the game, and he learned how to do it from Rick and Dale Sr.
Wild guess, Hendrick doesn't falter during the changeover.

I'm good with this. In many cases ex-pro athletes from any sport struggle to make a decent living after they retire. Many times their agents skim off a lot of cash or they get involved in stupid investments. I never expected to see Jeff on a corner of A1A with a cardboard sign, but still I'm glad Hendricks has a place for him.
Interesting that so much of his career has been tired to that single team and brand. How often does that happen in sports, never mind racing?
