On cupholders: In the RX-7 community, the passenger was known as the cupholder. After a while, saying "my cupholder" was kind of equivalent to saying SWMBO. This could easily apply to Miatas as well.
I'm shocked there was still a "new" '17 model around anywhere.

That's what I'm worried about - that I would have liked a slower car more. I guess I've got a little buyer's remorse, even though I love my car (c5z). I guess the grass is always greener, right?!
Do you have a build thread for any of your cars - vette especially??

There’s slightly less headroom in the RF. So all you 6’9” guys have an excuse for not dating the sexy sister :)
I have regular access to both the soft tops and the RF, and I go for the RF every time. My wife found the ‘17 RF to be claustrophobic for some reason, but not the ‘19 RF. Same interior trim level on both. Go figure.
Why the RF?
None of my NAs even have soft tops, they all have permanently installed hardtops. Actually, one of them might have a soft top, I'd have to check - but the fact that I'm not sure is telling. The RF is quieter and very good looking. I love the fact that it looks like a baby exotic. I'm not saying it's superior to the soft top - there's a reason Mazda still makes both - but it's my personal choice.
I do find myself far more likely to drop the top on the ND (RF or soft top) than on earlier Miatas for some reason.
My Jag XK coupe was side by side with a new RF at the gas station this morning. The RF looked like the lean, mean little brother.
MrChaos - congrats on your purchase!

I figured it had to do with sound levels inside for daily use.
I'm also in the camp of liking the miata in spite of the fact it's a convertible. That is main reason I went with an RF and why my NA has its hardtop on 90% of the time.

That's not really a factor in my commute, a sustained 40 mph is pretty quiet with the top up regardless, particularly with the GT top. Top down everything is noisy. The summer sun is vicious here so I usually want the top up for shade. And it looks so goooooood.

I had one for the C5 until Photobucket murdered it, then I never felt like going and fixing the thread so I quit updating.
The ND pretty much just gets maintenance and beat on so no build there

Picked up a new 17 ND RF Club w/ bbs/brembo package.
Replaced my Subaru Crosstrek which I just didn't like.
I like your color scheme.
That's beautiful. Mazda really nailed the ND IMO.
