To any of you with teams or shared ownership, how do you manage finances? Has anyone set up a joint bank account to keep car funds separate from "real-life" finances? Or what about establishing the build as a business to limit family liability?

A friend and I are wallet deep in a build, and I'm looking at ways to manage the budget beyond a disorganized box of reciepts on the workbench. Something like a joint debit card for the project would make purchases easier.

Another concern is liability. If we co-own the car, and one of us kills or maims a pedestrian (nightmare hypothetical), criminally the driver is at fault, but the victims could sue each owner in civil court. Even if the car is stolen, I think us owners could face civil court penalties in the event of an accident, no?

Any thoughts?

Both split the money on a prepaid visa and keep it with the car?
