So you can get either the all-wheel-drive CVT OR a 6 speed manual. I can live with that.
Oh wait, the 6 speed gives up multilink rear suspension for a torsion beam?
Damn Nissan, so close.

Speaking of CVT, I had the unfortunately opportunity to get an Altima rental car last week. Drove it to NC and back, over 1k miles. I HATE CVT. I will never buy a car that has one of those transmissions in it. Yuck.

Me too
I think the juke needs to be lowered and then it will look pretty cool.
Then again i also think Rav-4s would be really cool if they were lowered.
And Jeep Cherokees
I also hate CVTs with a flaming passion.
After spending a little time driving a Pontiac Aztek, i think they are actually a really decent vehicle ASIDE from the front end styling. I actually really like the back hatch design and the interior is pretty cool.
Actually, they drive a little like a turbo car already, in the sense that the acceleration isn't linear with the throttle input. And there's a surge of acceleration just after you want to STOP accelerating, when the trans starts to stop slipping. A turbo would make that much worse, I would think. For me it was a very disconcerting characteristic, and not something I want in a car I own. And the thing didn't even get any better mileage (31mpg) than my wife's TL-S with a 270 hp V-6. What's the point?
I am unimpressed... Nissan should have put the 1.6T in the Versa...
BTW, how do you know when a Nissan is running?
My wife and I have seriously considered getting one of these as a commuter car...however, upon reading over and over again how small they are, esp. in the rear seat, we knew that it would not work for our 3-member family. So, we just bought a new Honda CR-V instead!
I personally think its ugly. I mean, hide your children, lock the doors, get out the shotgun, and kill it with fire ugly. I think it out-uglies even the Ass-tek. If someone gave me one, I would sell it, for whatever money I could get for it, and run. If I had to chose between driving one and walking, I'd seriously consider investing in a new pair of sneakers.

I think it is based on the versa/cube platform which has been bashed for it's bland-ness.It's nice to see one company has bucked the trend of model bloat, why this model has gotten significantly smaller as its gotten older.... wait a minute... Nissan didn't design the first one... Two different companies made crossovers that have the design flow of a train wreck? Unpossible!
Could be worse. You could end up with this taxpayer-sponsored bag of ass.

Does anyone else think this should be re-released, but rename it "The ZAV"?
I don't get the hate for the design. It's not memorable, but it's not that cringe-worthy. I'd have to drive one first.

It's friggin' HORRIBLE. It looks like they took the Kia Soul's cabin and stuck it onto the bottom half of a VehiCROSS and then jammed bits of rejected Murano styling exercises on the front end. Except the Soul's ugly is redeemed by a very functional cabin, which is destroyed by making this thing into... whatever it is.

Fixed.

I like it. Just built one online and added everything that I thought would make my wife happy... ( )....came out to just over 25K.
I like this but I would take some metal/plastic to get rid of the stock turn signals and put a bunch of l.e.d.s in the grill above the headlights to replace them.
What pray tell would you then do with the giant gaping headlight holes?

Maybe it's because I just dig green wheels, but I think it looks kinda cool like this.
That's a well-shot photo of the black car. The highlight really masks the upper eyes.
When I first saw a picture of one, I immediately thought of the Fiat Multipla.
Which I would call the Fiat Multipass.
SilverFleet wrote: Gross!!!! Yet another car that has the right drivetrain in the wrong body. How hard is it to make an attractive looking car and match a decent drivetrain with it? Nissan (and many other car companies) need to fire their stylists and start over.
I think they (Nissan) took all the good designers and shipped them across the hall to Infiniti, and kept the design-school dropouts and heavy drug users with the Nissan badge.
And OP, that bottle of SmartWater your wife was drinking when she said that.....it was actually straight vodka.
