I'm at a Ford press intro right now and just met J Mays. Wow. Some neat things have come from his pen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J_Mays
They showed off a future design, but we couldn't take photos of it. I made a sketch of it, but they (jokingly) said that I got too close. Once the embargo date lifts, I'll post the sketch next to the real thing.
this better not be the hybrid SUV they're cooking up with toyota....
I can't say much, but let's say that it's something that I would drive. I even like the color.
OK, now you have me impressed.....
As long as it doesn't look like another rehashed 60s era car, I'm probably good with it.

A two seats sports car, or a turbo pocket rocket.
In reply to Toyman01:
I wouldn't mind a new 63 Galaxie.
How about just telling us whether it comes in 2, 3, 4, or 5 door configurations?
Too much info here and David will never be invited back to a Ford press conference again.. I can wait, no big deal.

I'm expecting something that could appear in a future Ken Block video.

Up here?
Lunch?
Eric, he's on a press junket. No way he's going to PizzaPapalis with you, LOL.

pat, you know better- I wanted to be part of the junket- free food and all.
Not to say he wouldn't rather, though. They keep folks pretty tightly scheduled at these things, and most meals involve listening to corporate/PR guys trying to cram as much info as possible into the journalists' heads. This particular trip is a 24-hr in/out for David. Such a jet-setter...

I would totally ditch a press junket for PizzaPapalis. Mmmmmmm that place is awesome.
I bet Mays would tell us.

spoken like a true automotive engineer! i actually check our conference room bookings everyday to see where i might find some leftovers. no, i'm not joking.
Following on the success of the Raptor, they're introducing a rally ready version of the Fiesta?
They're finally introducing the successor to the Ford GT?

Did he design it?
I've seen the things he has designed in the automotive family. I'd be worried.
You mean like this:
or this:

Sell it and they will RALLY!!!
Now there is a european wagon (or touring to use the euro parlance) that is too ugly for even my taste...

Yeah, this one was a quickie. Left Daytona on a 7:25 am flight on Tuesday, flew to Detroit and made it to the hotel in Rochester just before dinner. Yesterday we were on the road by 7:30. Did the usual ride and drive, got some autocross/test track laps, scarfed down lunch, and was back on the bus for the airport at 1:00. I arrived in my driveway at 10:00 last night.
Eric, I'll drop you an email.
