Any ideas what this rattle could be? 1999 Lexus RX 300 with 3.0-liter V6. Just turned 300,000 miles.

link For some reason I have to click the resize arrows in the top right hand corner of the window to get the vid to play

Thanks Scott

Pull the dipstick, examine the oil carefully in the light, see any glitter?

If I have the correct engine, it sounds like the timing belt cover is rattling, The belt might be frayed and hitting it.

Someday I will understand why people take vertical videos.

Kenny - No glitter that I can see.

pjbgravely - That is the area I was thinking.

Could be the timing belt tensioner. Maybe it lost its hydraulic pressure. The belt pulley hits the tensioner piston making a tapping/rattle sound. I believe you can touch the tensioner body and feel the rattle. The tensioner body sticks out below the timing cover.
