I would think the boards are fairly receptive to my rallying exploits, so I thought I'd share a short (compared to usual) writeup of team Hardyboy Racing's time at Kananaskis. I can assure you there will be a much longer one for the Rally of the Tall Pines in Ontario next week!
The weekend of the Kananaskis Rally 2008 came and went, wrapping up an eventful 2008 Western Canada Rally Championship for Hardy and I. Due to extenuating circumstances, only 2 out of 8 stages (approximatley 10km out of 120km) were ran of the event for everyone. Needless to say while everyone was disappointed in the shortened rally, our thoughts go out to the driver and co-driver who had an off on Sunday.
While it is with subdued joy, Hardy and I were able to capture the 2008 WCRC 1st place overall by winning the Kananaskis Rally! Among other notable achievments this year include 1st in P4 for the season, as well as 1st in the novice category. Essentially a clean sweep of the championship! Of course, there were some hits and misses for the other teams we were competing against throughout the season but, "that is rally" as Hardy would say! We now have a "quasi" team photographer Andrew Snucins who helps operate http://www.worldrallysport.com . Many pictures of our team are provided by Andrew, so check out the website for anything rally related if you are so inclined. Now after that shameless plug, here are the pictures I have found so you guys don't have to go dig for 'em ;) I'll add more as I find them :
I know there are quite a few guys on the boards from out east, if you are at Tall Pines, stop in and say hi (preferably followed by your username). I'd be more than happy to chat about anything and everything rallying or GRM related
