Looking to rent a ride for the Open lapping at Laguna Seca on November 6th. 2 drivers, lots of experience, don't really want to rent an automatic camaro from avis (but I will)

What kind of car? There are lots of Spec Miata rentals available around the bay area. Lesher Motorsports are in Salinas, just down the road from Laguna, and have a lot of rentals. TSE also rent Miatas. If you want something a bit more race-car-y, there's always a Spec Racer Ford. All of this is going to be more expensive than Avis, but if you're feeling particularly well-heeled, Dietsch Werks rents race-prepped Elises. :)
They might not let an SRF run during a lapping day...
This is relevant to my interests... I'd love to rent a Spec Miata or similar for a lapping day, just to say I'd driven the track.

Rent a Lotus from Dietsch Werks, obviously!
Or come out to Buttonwillow instead and I'll rent my Fiero to you.
Looks like a Lotus Club day. Talk to the organizers and ask if they have any recommendations. Otherwise, Lesher or Larry Oka racing is an option for a race prepped Miata. Lesher may be a better bet since he is local.
