I think it’s down about 30hp vs. your Focus, right?

I will say i was expecting slower than my zx2....but it was waaaayyy slower and less fun.

The ZX2 is surprisingly quick. Hideous, and the 5 speed model I spent time with had terrible linkage and a super odd clutch engagement point, but WAY more fun than it deserved to be. Most 90s cars are going to feel slow by comparison.

More or less yes, this one felt like it had half the power though.

It is suprisingly quick, and I'm glad I got it to drive long distances, it's fun enough that it makes the journey not seem as long.

I had roughly the same experience the first time i drove a BP/5spd Protege. Also similarly, the problem was that i already had a 5spd Neon, which was about 20 more hp but in reality felt twice as fast. cheeky

I think a built 1.8 na would be decent, but the real attraction of the BP versions is the boost potential, at least in my mind.

It has to be gearing, i mean.....my 00 explorer felt faster and it was 160hp moving roughly 4000lbs 256k miles ago.

It's a low-ball car. Fix the brakes (pads, lines, rotora, fluid) and do a full tune up (VC gasket, plugs [which are fouled from the VC gasket], air filter, clean the MAF etc) and I bet you pick up 20+hp.

I agree unfortunately, what i see he has is a car thats smoking heavily, brakes so bad driving it home is gonna be tedious and has some other random mehness to it.

What he sees is a car that was on Fast and Furious, has bitchin halo lights, that he put some money into to fix up recently and since its a rare car, people are just waiting with baited breath to get their tax return so they can buy this awesome example of mx3ness.

Those 2 are mutually exclusive, but ill watch it on craigslist and around march ill offer him like....$450-$500 if he hasnt fixed anything. I sort of doubt its going anywhere because its not cool enough to be a cool car, has a manual and needs work. None of those scream easy sale to me
