Yeah, those parts are slightly different on the 225, but like any car with "tuner" support, most of that stuff gets upgraded anyway so you can find all the 225 pieces used for dirt cheap to bolt onto your 180. I've crunched the numbers on both and my conclusion is that you can build a screamer of a 180 FWD for what a 225Q costs with a little bit of clever shopping. The huge weight advantage is the real lure of the 180 FWD; if Audi made a 225 FWD that'd be the one to have IMO, but alas...

Are vr6 quattros in the low ball market yet? IF I absolutely had to go down that route, that would be it. On first gen cars, make sure the brake reservoir isn't leaking.....that part failed on my friend's 225 Quattro and burned it to the ground.
