Anyone able to provide some helpful feedback on the universal plastic bolt-on fender flares that are prevalent on eBay? Something like these.

They ship from hong kong so they might arrive by the challenge

The measurements in the listing are important to getting the right size. I'm pretty sure mine came from some far off land. They like to crack if you aren't careful drilling holes in them.

Haha!

Hmm, I wonder if these would let me fit that "extra" set of 245s on the Mazda6 wagon...

On another note about the flares, it is easiest to sort through them by going to the sellers page to see all the sizes.

Patrick and Andy. Which ones did you end up ordering?

How well do these flex? Like if they don't quite fit straight, and I screw them down, will it crack immediately? Eventually? Or maybe?

I'm imagining they are made out of the same material as those party hats you get on st. Patrick's day.

Yet another source.

Echoing what Andy said, make sure you measure and get the closest fitting ones; any squishing or stretch of the flare to cover the opening puckers or sucks in the flare width.

Edit: I see Andy also shares my thought on sourcing.

I picked up a set for short money. Not too terrific as flairs (fragile/brittle/cheesy) but great as a buck for making fiberglass versions. Use as-is or slice and dice them to better fit the car. WAY better and easier than staring from scratch or trying to carve something out of high density foam.

Has anyone tried the flexible polyurethane ones?
