I'm starting to look at commuter and Dad-mobiles and hybrids and PHEVs are high on the list.
Anyone have any experience with Honda Clarit(ie)s? I don't love all the looks but are they just a dorkier hybrid Accord with plug-in capabilities?

I've been driving one for years and I love it! Bought it to keep fuel costs low when I had to commute between Daytona and Orlando for work, and now I hardly ever use gas anymore because my commute is so short.
I test drove one for 10 minutes and liked it a lot. Tons of value for the price. I haven't driven a newer Accord to have a comparison, but I would imagine this is likely a better car than the hybrid. It has a switch/detent in the throttle so when you go WOT it uses electric and ICE. As long as the battery has charge and you don't hit the detent you'll just be in EV mode.
In reply to Duke :
Everyone I've ever known who has owned a Prius has loved it.
Everyone I've ever known who has owned a Clarity has... just kidding I don't actually know anybody else who owns a Clarity
I know someone who had a Clarity and they loved it too. It's like a Chevy Volt made by Honda, but with Accord interior space.
I actually traded in a Volt for my Clarity. Can confirm, it's an upgrade in terms of space, comfort and reliability.
What is it with Honda? First there was the original Insight, which people liked and got crazy efficiency, but you'd see one for every 100 Priuseses. Now they've got this alleged Clarity, which I've never seen. I don't have a ton of experience with Honda, but my wife's Accord V6 was a very nice car. I generally hear good things about Honda. It seems if they're going to sell hybrids, they need to make hybrids. What am I missing?
