At least in 2011, cruise control could be ordered as a stand-alone option, or as part of a Comfort and Convenience Package with a power driver's seat and AM/FM/CD. I would expect a lot of cars had it outside of big-city patrol fleets (which you probably don't want to buy from anyway.)
Tasty brochures are available here and, no doubt, lots of other places.

If i do another panther, it's going to be a 97 town car.
any reason for the 97? Just wondering if there is something special about that year.

I'd definitely go the Grandmaw Key route. My grandfather has an '09 GM that I'm begging him to give me first dibs at when he doesn't want it any more. They are such nice riding cars- and better appointed than the vickies. I prefer the styling of the cars too- and they don't scream "I'm trying to be an police officer!".
I'd stay away from a town car, though. The adjustable suspensions can be problematic from what I've heard.
Put some P71 second hand rear springs in and its fixed. No difference in ride.
I regularly got 22 mpg out of the 15 CV,GM and Town Cars I operated in my fleet.
any 95 - 97 really. i just love how they look. a black 97 would be a fun place to put a V10 i think.
Can't wait to hear how you aimed at a P71 and hit this!
Meh, sounds about right for a "What car?" thread here.
Well, for the record I aimed at a Cooper S, then was told to buy a Focus, which got me thinking about P71s, which led me to buy a 350z.
Also- what wheels are those? The seller just said "fancy wheels"
Pretty sure they're Volks.
In reply to Tom Suddard:
They're not terrible, but maybe you could trade someone for some Volk TE37s?
Those are "you suck" wheels. Sper is an unhappy Sper.
berkeley. Keep the Volks.

And to think, you could have done this:
sell wheels, buy suspension
^ This. I actually really love the stock track package wheels, or newer base model 350z wheels. Congrats! Build thread?
It already has Tein coilovers on it, though. :D

If those are real Volks, why do they have some off brand indonesian tires on them? Their website is, uh... less than inspiring.

All will come in time. I'm picking it up on the 21st, supposedly it has 150k miles and had a new engine at 79k miles.
