I'm contemplating getting a set Race Ramps for for my tilt trailer. For those of you that have used them, do they grip the pavement enough so that you can drive onto the trailer or do they need some sort of positive attachment method?

Yes. I have extremely slippery epoxy painted garage floor and they stay put.

I've been using them for years, never had one slip.

Cool I prefer to drive onto the trailer so I wanted to be sure.

Race Ramps are weird, because when you first pull them out of the box, your initial reaction is "I paid multiple hundos for THESE?"

Then you use them a couple times and realize it was some of the best money you ever spent. Then a few years later the things that felt like they were going to fall apart if you farted too hard still look and work like brand new.

But, yeah, grippy, stable, immensely useful.

They aren't cheap but last year I had a sketchy, cobbled together disaster of a ramp system with service ramps under the trailer door and a pair of 2x12's with aluminum ATV cleats on the end.   Loading was a "launch it up and into the trailer and hope nothing slips on the way".

I bought the long ramps (over 6') and they work perfectly.   Very secure and much more confidence inspiring.

Seconded, to all of the above. Lightweight, durable, don't slip, shallow angles for low and lowered cars. Worth every bit of the heaping piles of pennies it takes to buy them. You will not regret getting a set.

They sometimes have specials on different products or you can get a coupon code good for $25 or $30 you can find on their website.

I'm going to do some measurements tonight. I'm tired of the steep angle on my tilt trailer,  while it doesn't require ramps to load the Datsun, it does involve a lot of clutch slipping.

I'm also not found of the crappy HF ramps I use to load the F500 on the trailer (I knew they were crappy when I bought them).

You'll need to log in to post.
