I had one of these. A rod exited the block @ bone stock power levels and <100k miles on the car.

I wouldn't mind a 4G63t in that elantra body though. Would be a fun DD/Sleeper.

Mitsubishi is not synonymous with quality in my experience. The SCoupe has the first round of in house Hyundai engines, right? I think it's the same basic engine as the SOHC 12v jobs in the first two generations of Accent. If so, that is the easiest engine in the world for my friend to tune and find parts for.

If it's Excel underneath, I can work with that.

The first Scoupes had the same Mitsu engine as the Excels. However, the Alpha engine debuted in the Scoupe, and I'm pretty certain it was the Turbo that got it (the plain Scoupes got it the same year). Can't remember what model year it was now.

91-92 = Mitsubishi

"Find parts for"? What parts do you need? They don't die. I know first hand that as long as there's ~1 qt of oil in the pan, it'll keep running like normal and only throw the red oil ight on when stopping or turning hard. Friggin' women.....

No offense to our female counterparts. Some women just don't "get it".
