Funny thing is when i got to kennibunkport to take this pic at least 3-4 people asked if i got attacked by a bear lol!!!

To clarify more, i would like something that would easily make the 650+ mile trip to and from baltimore to midcoast maine when need be in january/febuary, no kids but have a GF with one, and already have the RX8 that is a payment.

I thank all of my GRM brethren for helping me!!!!

I third the Maxima choice. In my opinion, get the best 95-99 you can find, or spring for the even better and more fun 02-03 with the 3.5 and a 6 speed. I'd avoid the 00-01's since they like to eat coil packs and cats and ECU's and IAC valves. Decent aftermarket, good MPG (I've gotten over 30 on the hwy in my 95), and tough as nails (mine has 203k on it and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country today).
But I agree with the other guys...find what tickles your fancy and buy the best one you can for 5k. Enjoy!

My volvo 240 has been pleasant and very reliable to drive daily, although I do want to sell it and buy a p71...

Spend $2k on a mid 90s Corolla...

spend $3k on the low cost toy (Miata) of your choice

I'm in the market for the same thing in somewhat of the same metro area. I need an auto though, something the wife can drive on days she has to do things and I can use to DD on the days she plans on sitting around the apartment. I'm hating the manual in this DC traffic.

I was thinking of a higher mileage TSX or 8th Gen Civic. Will def be out of that price range, but the whole one car thing sucks!

An auto opens up so much more for your choices.

At about 8 messages left but no response yet, its getting a bit annoying

I may have to get with you about events here in the DC area. Like autox, off-roading, etc haha.
