Tempting
That car in Tulsa was probably a company car or a rental or something. It has 94000 miles and lifetime mpg of 33, probably never charged.
Any worries about ones that have been sitting and battery problems due to this?
I have seen used Volts that looking at the Carfax report have been sitting at a dealership for 2-4 months.
I have also seen several 2014 models still being sold as new with less than 50 miles on the odo. Have these been sitting the 8 months since September or even longer?
I've had my blue Volt a month now. I got several recalls taken care of, as well as the rotor bearing fix (PIP5081) to silence a noisy bearing on regen.
I love the torque, and the quietness. A couple days a week, I work from a satellite office an hour from home. When they install a level 2 charger there (like at my usual office), I'll be able to do 2/3 of a 120 mile round trip on electricity. The other 3 days of the work week I don't use gas at all.
I'm amazed GM hasn't put this technology into a Chevy Colorado sized truck with awesome power outlets for tools. It could be a perfect handyman mobile.
I popped over to the dealership last week to take a 2015 for a test drive. With the 2016 model around the corner with extended range and a significant drop in MSRP, they had over 20 '15 models on the lot with deep discounts. The base model had an advertised internet price of $26k. Even after tax, tags, title, destination fees, etc. when you consider the $7500 tax credit, I've seen used '13s and '14s going for more than this would have cost brand new.
They gave me an absurdly low (expected) trade in offer on the GTO. Not ready to pull the trigger just yet.
Awesome that the new ones are getting that low in price! That wasn't the experience I had here in the KC area.
