No, he's saying we don't discuss politics, religion, and other subjects that tend to get people all grumpy and ranty here.

Given that I actually work within the reality that you are projecting, yea, I very much don't see what you seem to think is happening.
And I will finish by telling you that there are some very strong conservatives that work for the EPA. I'm sure you will decide not to believe that, as it does not fit your narrative, but since the real reality does not, this should not be different than that.
Good luck with your life.
I know you dont work with HQ elements of the EPA. I know that by the way you write about them. Either you dont work with HQ elements and your interaction with EPA employees is done at their local regional office level or you are a deliberately propagandizing for them.
Lol. Strong convervatives in the EPA.
Just like the 'conservatives' that are members of the NY Times staff.
I also bet there are some strong conservatives in the north korean politbburo as well, yet, it still serves as the politcal organ of a marxist regime.
In reply to GarageGorilla :
So since you actively choose to ignore reality, and want to bash a someone like you do, just go away.
This post has received too many downvotes to be displayed.

No you ignore reality. You are schilling for entities and organizations that are trying to put you and your coworkers out of business.

No name calling. No politics
What are you going on about??? My last half a dozen posts have been direct responses to what others have posted.

This on the other hand is deliberately condescending, insulting and not acceptable. It adds nothing to the discussion beyond your personal opinion of a group of people.
never mind...
(on that line- is there a reason there's not a "delete post" button for one of our own posts?)

I'm just trying to tell you that Anything political results in the ban hammer.
You came into a civil discussion about diesel engines and blew it up to be about your political views regarding the epa.
Not a great idea on this forum.

Hmm, I have a delete button on the bottom of my posts.
Seldom am I wise enough to use it, but it is there.

The EPA has a tremendous effect on our hobby. Any realistic discussion on the EPA's effect on cars in general or motorsports in specific will get 'political' if the realities of the matter are discussed. So either ban discussion of the EPA as a subject, make a rule that no one can say anything that maligns the EPA, or more clearly define what is political.

Crud- I was looking at the wrong spot- I was thinking there was on when you open the edit window. Thanks.
When I was in high school I was madly in love with a girl who had the initials EPA. This thread is triggering a lot of bad memories of how Elisha left my tuba playing self for one of those cool trombone guys. I hope you guys are happy.

The EPA definitely does, in that the rules they help create and/or enforce have a bearing on what we can do with our cars and their parts, and what is on the new vehicles we can purchase. But whether the people there are right/left/good/evil/heroes/villains/robots/lizardpeople/nazis or the agency as a whole is any of those things is not really relevant and tends to get people all riled up as a discussion topic. I don't mind, in fact I'm sort of enjoying your posts about it, but clearly there's some offense being taken by some members. Plus, those are the rules.
Can the mods just ban this crackbrain already? I was actually really enjoying this thread until GG came in like Alex Jones hyped up on cocaine and starting E36 M3ing on people with his lunatic rants. I think he's made it clear he's not going to be a productive member.
And can we please get back to talking about diesels? I'd like to keep learning here. As they say, don't feed the trolls.

For our hobby, specifically, if you look at who the EPA has gone after, it's always the ones who are actually doing harm. What sucks is when the reaction of bad actors affects a lot more than intended, but that's how it works. The coal rollers are doing none of us a favor- and are actually making all of us look bad.

I feel (<----the most important words in this post) that GG is basically right. Who staffs these agencies typically determines their policymaking. It's terribly relevant who is employed there and their agendas. Outside of a vacuum, real life, the EPA has done a lot of harm to individuals and corporations. Inside of our vacuum here it's impolite to say that, so I won't.

Thank you.
Dont take my word for it, take the word of those crazy conspiracy theorists as the US Chamber of Commerce:

You know what is interesting and telling?
No one has refuted anything in any of the links that I've posted in this thread. No one has said, 'thats not true', or 'the EPA didnt do that'. There's only been pearl clutching about mean words beings posted and dress being looked under.

It drives me nuts that we spend so much time arguing and policing the car when we could go after the 300 or so cruise ships in the US to get the same drop in emissions. My 2 cents idk.
