This is the fuel cell for my Challenge Corolla. I want to open it up to see if the foam is shot and to see if there's a filter sock on the outlet tube, but I know the gasket is crumbly where it's exposed, so I'm assuming I'll need a new one. This thing is decades old I'll guess. When I look at new gaskets for ATL cells they're all listed as 6"x10"-24 hole.   Well, mine is 24 holes, but that fill plate is about 7.5"x12". Is the sizing maybe the inside dimensions of the hole in the cell, or am I just out of luck for finding a gasket?

You should be able to do a cursory inspection without removing the fill plate.

As for it being plugged and or not having a filter just run a test; put a gallon in it and pump it into a gas can.

Note: I have a filter between the pump and cell on both my cars.

The gasket is usually just flexible cork.  You could probably template the old one and make a new one if needed.  I have a set of round gasket punches if you need them :)

I remember ordering one years ago for an old ATL cell, they were more expensive than I thought but that may have been because it was an oddball size (like yours)

I've always found ATL to be pretty responsive to old fashioned telephone calls.  For a challenge car I'd probably make my own gasket from sheet material and being sheet stock I'd try and get away with only charging the percentage of material used to the budget.
