Ok, I think we’re getting off track here.

As much as I love the idea of pulling fuses and butchering my wiring harness, I’m looking for recommendations on jump packs.

I am commercial, so I have to have 12v power going to the trailer to keep the trailer battery charged according to DOT. Whether they will check that or not is questionable, but I’m not testing that theory.

The trailer thing doesn’t happen that often, it was just an example  and there are times I’ve needed a jump pack out on the road and at home.

I think this is a two part problem.

First is to stop the battery drain from occurring. It’s obviously happened enough to prompt this thread so why not go with a permanent solution instead of relying on a band-aid with the jump pack?

Install something like this once, and be done with it:

Isolator

It won’t interfere with the use of your trailer and doesn’t require any action on your part once it’s installed

Then the second part is a jump pack for those time when you need it for other vehicles. These have various levels of reliability, so I personally wouldn’t want to rely on one to start a diesel (especially in the winter) if someone forgets to turn off something in a trailer.

Once again, I use the trailers as an example. There have been other times that I have needed a jump pack.  Losing cranking amperage in the middle of a trap is not fun to deal with, especially when nobody is around to give you a jump.

I’m going to look into the battery isolator, but I still want the jump pack.

Ok, so now it is illegal to have a dead battery inside the trailer. Good thing they can't prove it IF YOU DONT HAVE THE KEYS TO OPEN IT! Hah! GOT EM !

Except that the battery is on the tongue of the trailer. cheeky

I have a priority start on my 4runner. Works like it should, never know its there.

That being said, I also have a lithium jump pack, Anti Gravity brand. IIRC they have one for diesels (X10? Name?) I should look into this too.... I can jump myslef from the house batteries on mine in theory, but I dont want to try that theory out if I dont have to.

I understand the need for the jump box, and that this was just and example. The jump box has usefulness and convenience beyond the issues of something left on in the trailer

I was just recommending addressing trailer batteries drawing down the truck batteries as it’s own issue with a targeted solution.

Clearly you need an LS1.
