I came across a Dodge Raider for dirt cheap. I been keeping an eye out for a small 4WD Ute to play with and this came up on Craigslist today. It hasn't run in ten years. How horrible are they. I had never heard of them and assume it's a Mitsubishi of some sort.
Old school short wheelbase Montero/Pajero. IDK much about them, but I know there's not a ton of them left in MN/rust belt areas. I do also remember them being kinda cool, because they had the tip gauge in them.

They are pretty awesome if you ask me.

either 2.6 or 3.0 is a pretty decent motor, hope for a 3.0 motor, though, its a little bit better at everything.
I do like the dodge raiders, parts seem hard to come by in the US though. You might be better off with the cherokee.
I've always wanted to get one and badge it as a Pajero. First, because they're super cool, but second because Pajero is South American slang for either a lazy person or someone who masturbates, depending on context. Hence, the name change to Montero...
They tend to rust up bad and the auto trans is on the weak side, the manual is overall very good as long the correct fluid has been used if not the tend to tear themselves apart.
Not bad for light four wheeling but they do not tend to be sure footed from what I have seen.
I "think" you can get an air locker for the rear diff but this was many years ago.
