I just received a recall notice for my 2017 Lincoln MKC. It seems there is an issue with the battery monito system that could cause an engine fire. Lincoln has advised us to [park the vehicle outside, so it is sitting in the middle of my driveway.
Does anyone know about this? Is the chance of fire greater while driving or after we park it?
You can get more info by going to safercar.gov hit recalls and search by vehicle, it lets you access the publicly available documents they had to submit to the government.
This not a new recall. I took my MKC in last July and the fix only took a few minutes if they have the part in stock. I parked mine outside as a precaution, in the summer it was no issue. The dealer told me it was a low chance of fire, if you believe dealers.
